At Cottage Garden Cookery, everything is made from scratch in small batches, using the best ingredients, treasured recipes, and time-honoured skills.

Cottage Garden Cookery produces special food from Laura’s home kitchen in rural Cambridgeshire, where she lives surrounded by beautiful fresh produce, meat and game throughout the seasons.

Laura’s blog, Crumbs on the Table, shares recipes and tells stories about food and the people who eat it, cook it, grow it and raise it.  It was one of three finalists for the Guild of Food Writers’ Food Blog of the Year Award 2015.

Best Food Writing 2016Laura writes and photographs a monthly food column with recipes for Cambridge Magazine, and formerly for Cambridge News, and she writes and photographs restaurant reviews for olive magazine.

Her work also appears in Best Food Writing 2016, edited by Holly Hughes (Da Capo Press).

She also received a “Commended” award in the Pink Lady 2015 Food Photography of the Year competition, for her image, “Breakfast in the Classroom, Rural Ghana“,  in the category of “Politics of Food”.

What I do:

I love delighting people with good, real, food.  Please get in touch if you need something special or want to talk over some ideas.

About Laura

Laura is a former restaurant cook, private cook, and cooking instructor from California who has lived in England for over 25 years.  After working for a long time as a professional writer, she returned full-time to food — cooking it, writing about it, and photographing it — and travels as much as she can to experience new tastes and traditions that she loves to share. She writes and photographs a monthly food column for Cambridge News, and restaurant reviews for olive magazine.
